Mercer has been appointed by SkillsFuture Singapore to develop a skills framework and undertake a wage study for human resources (HR) professionals in Singapore. SkillsFuture Singapore, a statutory board under the Ministry of Education, is supported by the Singaporean tripartite Council for Skills, Innovation and Productivity. This appointment demonstrates Singapore’s strong commitment to the development of HR professionals, and the underlying education and training ecosystem for the HR discipline in Singapore.
This appointment closely follows the establishment of the Institute of Human Resources Professionals under tripartite partners: the Ministry of Manpower, the National Trades Union Congress and Singapore National Employers Federation to professionalize and strengthen the HR practice in Singapore. The appointment incorporates the development of a National Skills Framework, development of Technical Skills and Competencies Reference documents, and a wage study for key job roles in HR.
“This is a proud moment for all of us at Mercer and a testament of our long-standing commitment to enabling the HR discipline transformation and becoming future-ready in the digital era”, said Kulshaan Singh, CEO, Singapore at Mercer. “Globally, we have been at the forefront of developing leading-edge research to help HR professionals prepare for the future. A few weeks back, we launched Mercer Digital to empower organizations for the workforce and workplace of the future. We look forward to partnering with SkillsFuture Singapore in developing a National Skills Framework for HR that is robust, resilient and future-ready.”
“In addition to our recent thought leadership – ‘How HR needs to change’ and ‘Talent Trends 2017’ – deep research which has informed our unique perspective on the future of the HR profession, we have always provided digitally-powered platforms such as Mercer Learning™ and Mercer360 HR Capability Builder™ to help HR professionals gain mastery in various aspects of the discipline,” Singh added.
Mercer continues to be actively involved with the Institute of Human Resources Professionals, and Mercer experts serve on the IHRP professional practice committee – a national council dedicated to fostering excellence in HR in Singapore.
